Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors for Radon Measurement
LR-115 Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors (SSNTDs) are widely used for long-term measurement of indoor radon concentration. The detector records alpha particle tracks produced by radon and its progeny, which are later revealed through chemical etching and microscopic analysis.
After exposure, the detectors are chemically etched under controlled conditions to reveal alpha tracks, which are then counted using optical microscopy or automated image analysis systems.
