Cesium Iodide Based Radiation Detectors
Cesium Iodide (CsI) scintillation detectors are used for the detection and measurement of gamma and X-ray radiation. CsI crystals convert incident radiation into visible light, which is then detected using photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) or silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs).
The detector assembly consists of an optically coupled CsI crystal, light sensor (PMT or SiPM), preamplifier, and signal processing electronics, optimized for stable and repeatable performance.
